Don’t expect any prickly soup Nazis at this year’s CHOMP AND STOMP CHILI COOK-OFF AND FESTIVAL Sat., NOV. 8. Besides the annual chili contest, a 5K, a sprinkling of crafty art and good old-fashioned drinking games like Cornhole, you’re more likely to encounter friendly Cabbagetowners than saucy chili ladlers. Chomp and Stomp revisits the old-timey mountain music and bluegrass that historically thrived in Cabbagetown with its Park Stage, while the Conroy Amphitheater delves into Americana, blues and alt-country sentiments. Performers include Pea Ridge Ramblers, Peachtree Station and the curiously monikered Spanky & the Love Handles. $5. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Cabbagetown Park, 701 Kirkwood Ave. www.chompandstomp.com.
