Award-winning singer, actress, and playwright, Mzuri Moyo Aimbaye will return to Atlanta for a performance of her acclaimed stage play about civil rights activist, Fannie Lou Hamer, during the 58th Annual Session of The Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC).

The play starts directly after the Freedom Banquet featuring a keynote address by another voting rights warrior, Stacey Abrams.”

The audience is in for a treat as Aimbaye couples her exceptional storytelling abilities with her mellifluous voice and commanding stage presence to take the audience on an incredible journey as Fannie Lou Hamer returns from heaven on a mission to invoke a sense of purpose and responsibility. Through intimate conversations and twelve emotionally moving songs, Aimbaye transforms into Fannie Lou Hamer and gives a witty and personal account of her life growing up and the struggles she encountered fighting for the right to vote.
