Emory University Historian Gary Hauk traces the history of the Michael C. Carlos Museum as it celebrates its centennial. The museum’s nomadic wanderings have taken it from Seney Hall at Oxford College to its current home designed by architect Michael Graves on Emory’s historic Quadrangle. From a cabinet of curiosities featuring stuffed birds and a piece of rock salt “reported to be part of Lot’s wife,” the museum has developed into the finest collection of antiquities in the Southeast. Location: Rose Library, Level 10 of the Woodruff Library at Emory University. Program followed by reception.
