Compassionate Cities Initiative-Atlanta

Saturday February 1, 2014 07:00 PM EST
Cost: free

From the venue:

The kick-off event for Atlanta and adjacent municipalities to join the International Campaign for Compassionate Cities. At the Atlanta gathering, government and business leaders as well as civic, religious, neighborhood and other grassroots groups and institutions will be invited to engage in dialogue to determine how each can become more compassionate in policy-making and action. The initiative was sparked by scholar Karen Armstrong’s TED talk, http://compassionateaction.org/charter-karen-armstrong, and the launching of the “Charter for Compassion,” crafted by a group of interfaith scholars.
