Atlanta Intersections: Jesse Peel

Monday April 7, 2014 08:00 PM EDT
Cost: Free

From the venue:

Longtime Atlanta LGBT community activist Jesse Peel will be in conversation with Randy Gue, curator of modern political and historical collections at Emory’s MARBL. Peel was instrumental in building local organizations to support people with HIV/AIDS and their families as the epidemic gained momentum in the early 1980s. He will talk about how the community had to develop their own support, invent their own organizations, and provide their own services when there were none to respond to the AIDS crisis. Jones Room, Robert W. Woodruff Library, Level 3.
