Metropolitan Atlanta Community Band (MACB) Spring Concert

MACB holds a joint concert with the Wendell Whalum Community Chorus. Among other pieces, the two Atlanta mainstays will present Hymn of Courage by internationally renowned composer John Ness Beck, as well as Armed Forces—The Pride of America!, a tribute to the U.S. military. It is rousing yet moving, and features the official songs of all five branches of the Armed Forces along with snippets of Sousa marches.Additionally, MACB will perform the rhythmic and driving Masque, a concert band classic by W. Francis McBeth, and the jazz favorite, Saint Louis Blues March, by celebrated African-American composer W.C. Handy.
