Democrats picked state Rep. Bee Nguyen as their nominee for secretary of state in Tuesday’s primary runoffs, resulting in a defeat for former state Rep. Dee Dawkins-Haigler. Nguyen will face incumbent Brad Raffensperger and Libertarian Ted Metz in November’s general election.
Nguyen, 40, a vice chair of the state’s Democratic Party, was endorsed in the race by gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who is vying to unseat Gov. Brian Kemp in the fall. Details: pbs.org
