Georgia Republican candidate David Perdue on Monday accused his Democratic counterpart Stacey Abrams of “demeaning her own race” following comments she made on the quality of life of Georgia residents. Abrams told supporters at a dinner in suburban Atlanta on Saturday that the states’ dismal rankings for mental health access and maternal mortality signify it is “not the number one place to live.”
In an interview later on MSNBC, Abrams said, “I will never apologize for my meaning, and that is that we mean to serve the people of Georgia and we mean to make Georgia better for everyone, and I want to lift everyone up.” time.com
