The Atlanta City Council yesterday signed off on a measure that will give almost $2 million to employees who lost their unused vacation time. The proposal comes on the heels of a highly-criticized decision by Mayor Kasim Reed to give “hardship” payouts to top city officials in exchange for unused vacation time.
Say hello to LaVista Hills, the latest cityhood proposal that could potentially span from Druid Hills to outside the perimeter. The new plan would include 72,000 residents and effectively combine the areas included in the prior Lakeside and Briarcliff proposals. The push to incorporate Tucker, which includes another 55,000 residents, is still alive and well.
