Round up a group of friends and hit up the CHOMP & STOMP CHILI COOK-OFF AND FESTIVAL. Known for its annual chili contest and 5K, Chomp & Stomp also delivers free-flowing SweetWater on tap, an eclectic art market and a large helping of bluegrass music on the side. While the festival is all in the name of fun – and food! – Cabbagetown takes its chili seriously and has called in the big guns to help judge the contest, including Shaun Doty, Kevin Gillespie, Kevin Rathbun and Linton Hopkins, to name a few. So skip breakfast, take a deep breath and start digging in early because the food goes quickly. After you reach a state of chili bliss, take in performances by the Pea Ridge Ramblers, Slim Chance and the Convicts and more. $5, all-you-can-eat chili; $25, Romp & Stomp 5K. Race start, 8 a.m.; festival, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Cabbagetown Park, Tye Street and Kirkwood Avenue. www.chompandstomp.com.

Cabbagetown held its annual neighborhood festival on Nov. 7. Chomp and Stomp featured a chili cook-off with 60+ teams competing, along with live music and games in the park.
